I am an unabashed fan of Lydia Kang's work, and "Toxic" is a strong example of her young adult offerings. It follows a similar pattern to "The November Girl," with alternating chapters from a male and female point of view, and an ominous mother figure, and blossoming love, and characters seeking redemption.
